Day 1 Your Sri Lanka Holiday starts.
Your Sri Lanka holiday starts with the departure from London or your home city. You arrive in Sri Lanka always a day earlier or later depending on your home country. The choice of booking the ticket is yours- Either give it to us you can do it yourself.
Day 2 Your chauffeur meets you at the airport.
Your driver welcomes you at the Bandaranaike international airport and then it is a half hour drive from Negombo. Negombo is situated directly by the sea. After you have refreshed you go with your driver today to see the center of Negombo and visit the the vibrant shopping streets there. You make a boat tour on the lagoon behind the harbor of Negombo. You'll stay in a hotel that is located on the beach. From your hotel you have a direct every morning view of the fishermen in the water.
Day 3 What is a Sri Lanka Holiday without Sigiriya?
The first stop is somewhat Dutch. You are visiting the Dutch Village. Here you are introduced to the care for the elderly in Sri Lanka. Its a special look at the Sri Lankan culture. In the late afternoon, when the sun begins to sink, you visit the Lion Rock in Sigiriya. The climb is quite a challenge! Fortunately, there is also enough to see on the way to the top.
Day 4 Today you visit the Royal city of Polonnaruwa
It's about an hour drive to the ancient royal city of Polonnaruwa. You can visit here the museum and will receive an explanation of the royal city. You are visiting the city in a real tuk-tuk! This is the local three wheel taxi. The statues and temples are scattered here. Polonnaruwa was once the second capital of Sri Lanka after Anuradhapura expired as its capital. It was built in the 11th and 12th century AD. It has been several years after the city was named as a protected World Heritage Site by the UNESCO where the enormous statues and temples are well preserved..
Day 5 On the way to your home stay in the green outback in Sri Lanka
Dambulla has the largest fruit and vegetable market of Sri Lanka and a rock temple with numerous Buddha statues and extraordinary cave paintings. You will find more than 150 murals and hundreds of Buddha images in the caves. Next to Pinnawela there is a nice home-stay in the middle of the greenery. Day 6 A Special Sri Lanka Holiday Specialist village exploration
You're going to get to know the small rural village Ilukgoda in the middle of the green nature. Led by Kumara the guide, you get introduced to the daily lives of the friendly locals.
You literally get a look behind the scenes of the village. You walk past the simple houses of the friendly people and often there is the opportunity to taste fresh coconut. A meeting with the children or the monk of the village is also a possibility. The program can vary, because it is about a (special) meeting. Also your traditional lunch is included here. Often along the river, Are you going to bring your swimsuit?
Day 7 It is just an hour ride to Kandy where we visit today
Illukgoda is close to Kandy. You therefore have a large part of today to decide how you want to fill the day. Around the pool or explore the city center. At the Temple premises there are streets with various shops. This is the place to buy a colorful flower umbrella that you probably saw Sri Lankan women walking with. At the end of the afternoon, the driver takes you to the Temple of the Tooth. We'll be there in time for the evening ceremony.
Day 9 Via the botanical garden and a tea factory visit, we visit Nuwara Eliya.
In Peradeniya, next to Kandy, you visit the Botanical Garden. You drive to Nuwara Eliya where you arrive in the afternoon. Along the way there is a lot to see. You will notice that the landscape quickly changes into a one with only plantations. On one of the plantations you visit a tea factory and learn a lot about the different varieties of tea. Nuwara Eliya is located high in the mountains and there are several places that refer to the English founders. There is a British post office, a race course, Victoria park and the Gregory lake for boat riding.
Day 9 Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains - Ella
You are early on the road today and brought to the Horton Plains plateau where you take a walk along World's End and Baker's Falls. The first is a viewpoint and a second is a waterfall. When you have an early departure it is most likely to have a cloudless, panaromic view from World's End. Thereafter in the train from Nanu Oya to Ella. The ride goes through tea plantations, waterfalls and green hills. Imagine a busy day today. The train is often crowded and sometimes you stand among the locals.
Day 10 On the way to the Yala national park
The Yala National Park is one of the two largest national parks in Sri Lanka. It is close to the ocean and size of the park is mostly covered with a low layer. That makes the chance to spot wildlife nice and big! You go with a jeep into the park and make a nice trip in the Yala national park. It is one of the parks in Sri Lanka where you can see leopards. Leopards are unfortunately hard to find. They will not let be spotted easily but we hear frequently from guests that they still saw a leopard during their Sri Lanka holiday.
Day 11 Happily relax on the long stretched tropical beach
Tangalla is a fishing village on the south coast. Lagoon Paradise Beach where you stay is right on the sea. To reach the sea you cross the bridge over the lagoon. It has a swimming pool and a nice restaurant right on the beach. When you think of a tropical beaches Tangalla answers directly to that image. Palm trees stretch here to the golden beach and the blue sea.

Day 13 An exploration in the star fort in Galle
In the late hours in the morning you'll arrive at the Dutch star fort in Galle. Your guide waits for you and you explore the fort and the surrounding area by bike. It is a special and a convenient excursion because you get to know immediately where the best restaurants are located in the fort. You will be staying a night at the star fort itself! So you have all the time to also explore the nice shops and experience the special atmosphere of the fort.
Day 14 We ride again to Negombo
We drive you back to Negombo where you stay the last night. With Dutch support there is much work done in Telwatta. The small tsunami museum (actually no more than two wooden huts) gives you a good idea of the post-tsunami period and let the recovery be seen in the light of photographs of helpers and drawings of children. Also visit a sea turtle shelter project. In the afternoon you arrive at the hotel where your holiday began.
Day 16 Negombo - Airport
You are getting in to the vehicle with the chauffeur for the last time during your Sri Lanka holiday. In the airport you say good bye to him and take the return flight to your home country.
Extension East Coast
This holiday can be extended a few days by staying on the East coast in Nilaveli. During our summer the sea is pleasantly calm and you can snorkel around Pigeon Island and even dive there. Real adventurers go to sea with a small boat to spot the whales present there.
Day 5- 8 (in the Summer )We drive you to the east coast for a few days beach stay (3 nights) and then continue the program as mentioned above.
