Day 1

Departure for your budget holiday to Sri Lanka.

Day 2 Airport - Negombo

Arrival in Sri Lanka and transfer to your hotel in Negombo just less than a half hour drive from Bandaranaike Airport. You can explore Negombo the rest of the day tand recover from the journey. Your nice hotel with friendly people is on the road along the beach and has a swimming pool.

Day 3

Let us introduce you to the town of Negombo.This place is famous for its canals where the Dutch built. They did this for the transportation of spices from the interior of the land. We visit the small port, the market and some lovely churches and temples in the town. Optionally you can book a boat trip through the lagoon

Day 4 Negombo - Sigiriya

On the way to your hotel you visit the Lion Rock Sigiriya, which lies in the close vicinity. During the climb you'll pass a cave with frescoes dating from the 5th century. On top of the rock are the remains of the castle of the king who had his castle here once; He was king Kassapa. You have a steep climb where, the last part starts from the lion paws between two huge rocks. The view on top is breathtaking. Once back down, it is still a short drive to the hotel in the middle of the green nature in Sigiriya.

Day 5 Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya

Today you will visit Polonnaruwa. It is an hour's drive away. Gil Vihara is a four rock-hewn image temple is one such place where you can sit for hours. Watch your stuff! The playful monkeys are sometimes quite brutal here. The Vatadage image house has a beautiful moonstone and a circle of seated Buddha statues. You can also visit the informative museum.

Day 6 Sigiriya - Kandy

The route today leads to Kandy where your hotel is, which lies in a quiet place near the center,. The slightly elevated location offers a beautiful view of the city. Along the way you can visit the Dambulla temple. Here are the 153 carved images, and wall and ceiling paintings where the oldest more than 2000 years old. In addition to seated, lying and standing images of Singhalese kings and Hindu gods, you will also find here a lot of brightly colored Buddha images. You visit a spice-garden in Matale where you will learn all about the many spices and herbs that grow in Sri Lanka.

Day 7 Kandy

Today you have the whole day to explore Kandy. Visiting the Temple of the Tooth certainly should not be missed. This temple, located next to the town lake, is the main temple of the island. Under a golden pyramid you find a tooth of Buddha. Through a visit to the market and the botanical garden you get a correct and a complete impression of the city.

Day 8 Kandy - Pinnawela - Kandy

One hour drive from Kandy is Pinnawela. The famous elephant orphanage is located here. It is a beautiful sight to see the elephants bathing in the nearby river. Do not forget your camera! Time flies when you're watching when the herd plays in the river. The rest of the day at leisure in Kandy.

Day 9 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. This Mountainous village was where wealthy English tea planters escaped to from the hot summer in the lowlands. They built their beautiful country houses here. The town still has an English atmosphere. Due to the high altitude the evenings can be cold, so a sweater is advisable. As you get closer to the city is the number of tea plantations increase to and at some point you will see only plantations. We also visit a tea factory. After a city tour we go to your hotel.

Day 10 Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains - Nuwara Eliya

You can make a trip to the plateau Horton Plains. You will be brought there to go with a jeep and then you make an extensive walk across the vast plateau. The walk passes World's End, where the mountain suddenly narrows and falls 800 meters in depth. The most beautiful view you have if you leave early, when there are often no clouds. The trail also passes a waterfall, Bakers Fall's. If you do not want this tour you can stay in Nuwara Eliya the whole day. Day 11 Train ride Nanu Oya - Ella

Today you take the train. The train journey through the mountains is mentioned by many as a highlight of their Sri Lanka holiday. It is the way to make contact with the friendly locals. The train journey takes you through the rugged mountains. Alternately you can see mountains, tea plantations and some waterfalls. At Ella you get off and your driver waits for you again with luggage. After a brief exploration of the surroundings, we take you to your guesthouse that is beautifully situated.

Day 12 Ella - Yala


We leave the mountain and drive to the south-east. Today's destination is the place called Tissamaharama. It is the starting point for the nearby Yala National Park. You can book a visit to the park . You will go into the park with a jeep and make an extensive tour in search of wildlife. Elephants can surely be here and even bear and deer. Recently our guests saw some leopards who are difficult to find.

Day 13 Yala - Mirissa/Polhena

The holiday goes today to the south coast where you will find the beautiful tropical palm beaches. Along the way you may have come across the famous fishermen waiting patiently on wooden poles for fish and tourists. You'll stay in Polhena right on the beach. Polhena is close to Mirissa and just like Mirissa has a real tropical bay. Palms are next to the beach! That's still quite yet very luxurious!

Day 14 Mirissa/Polhena

A relaxing day in the beach of Polhena.

Day 15 Polhena - Negombo

We will bring you back to the starting point of the trip in Negombo. En route visit Galle, where a beautiful old Dutch star fort is next to the sea. After that we also make a stop to give you the opportunity to see a sea turtle sanctuary. You stay in Negombo again near the beach.

Day 16

Return flight (Eventually at night departure, you already go to the airport on the night of day 15)
